Cylindrical Rubber Fender

Robust Durability & Adaptability for Challenging Maritime Conditions

Cylindrical rubber fender is an easy and multi-functional ship protection device. It can be widely used in wharves, harbors, offshore platforms and various types of ships. Through progressive reaction force, it can effectively absorb the impact energy during berthing. This can effectively protect the shore wall and hull, and prolong the service life of operation facilities and ships. Generally, we produce these fenders using an extrusion moulding process. With outer diameters ranging from 150 to 2000 mm, inner diameters from 75 to 1000 mm and lengths up to 20 meters (large sizes can be joined in sections). They can be adapted to a wide range of marina environments and operating conditions.

With excellent energy absorption and flexibility, cylindrical rubber fenders provide stable protection in complex sea conditions. As a leading manufacturer of rubber fenders, Henger Shipping Supplies specializes in providing high quality, reliable fender solutions.

Cylindrical Rubber Fender Features

High abrasion resistance & long life: Henger’s cylindrical rubber fender is designed with thick-walled rubber for excellent abrasion resistance. It can maintain stable performance in frequent contact and high intensity impact. And the high-strength rubber material is treated with an advanced vulcanization process to provide excellent weather resistance. It gives the ability to effectively resist the erosion of seawater, UV rays and mechanical wear. Its robust construction not only reduces the frequency of replacement, but also significantly reduces the risk of operational disruption due to maintenance.

Progressive reaction force with high energy absorption and low reaction force: the progressive reaction force of this fender rises gradually with increasing deflection. It effectively absorbs the impact energy at berth and disperses it evenly around the circumference of the fender. This homogeneous structure avoids damage to the hull and dock from concentrated stresses. At 50% compression, our fenders provide 464 kN of reaction force and 43.8 kN-m of energy absorption. Even in the face of strong impacts, it maintains a stable cushioning performance, providing reliable protection for marinas and ships.

Variety of mounting methods and versatility: The design of the cylindrical rubber fender makes it extremely adaptable. It supports a variety of mounting methods, including chains, U-rings, steel rods, ropes, ladder supports or nylon straps. It is easy to install, whether horizontally, vertically or diagonally. Flexible design features allow the fender to be widely used in scenarios such as commercial harbors, fishing piers and boat docks. In addition, it is compatible with a wide range of facility requirements. This allows users to flexibly adjust the installation according to different operating environments and safety requirements.

Adaptable to a wide range of sizes and configurations: Hengerd fenders are available in a wide range of sizes to meet the needs of different applications. Diameters range from 150 mm to 2000 mm and lengths can be customized to meet specific project requirements. If larger fenders are required, this can be achieved by extending the fenders in sections. For fenders with diameters up to 500 mm, they can be fixed by chaining through the cavity. For larger diameters, the fenders are designed with grooves around the periphery, which can be further reinforced with bands or cables.

Cost-effective: Cylindrical rubber fenders offer significant economic benefits due to their durability and low maintenance requirements. The robust design extends product life and greatly reduces the frequency of replacement. At the same time, the fenders are easy to maintain, further reducing the cost burden in port and ship operations. By optimizing the efficiency of its use, this fender provides customers with a reliable protection solution.

Areas of application for Cylindrical Fenders

Commercial Ports and Terminals: Cylindrical fenders are commonly used as protective equipment in commercial ports and terminals. Its cylindrical shape provides a wide contact area to cushion the impact of large cargo and passenger vessels. The fenders are suitable for a variety of berth designs, including straight and inclined berths. They provide continuous impact protection to ensure the safety and stability of harbor operations.

Military and Naval Facilities: Cylindrical rubber fenders are widely used in military and naval facilities. Military terminals are often exposed to multiple types of vessels and complex berthing conditions. These fenders ensure the safety of vessels at berth due to their high energy absorption capacity and durability.

Offshore platforms and oil and gas facilities: On offshore platforms and oil and gas facilities. This cylindrical fender provides the necessary protection against the harsh marine environment. Its corrosion and abrasion resistance allows it to maintain performance in high salinity and chemical corrosive conditions. This reduces the risk of collisions during ship operations and protects critical equipment and personnel.

How to install fenders?

Fenders are installed, and there are generally three ways to install them, depending on the specifications:

Small fenders: they are usually hung and secured to the dock or hull using chains or u-cups. Because it is quick and easy to install, subsequent maintenance is relatively easy.

Medium Fenders: Medium fenders require a higher degree of stability during installation. They are often reinforced with steel rods and shorter chains or braces. This approach ensures solidity while still maintaining a high level of installation efficiency.

Large fenders: Large fenders are often used in high-impact situations and therefore require a more robust fixing. They are often installed with a steel frame, or with grooves around the perimeter of the fender, further reinforced with nylon straps or cables. This can effectively cope with severe impacts and ensure that the fender provides stable protection.
